Newtown Pool League;  "Playing Premier Pool in Powys"

Jimmy White Snooker Night

CURRENT TABLES AND WEEK'S RESULTS

Pool Press Published For Sunday 30th March

Headlines:

Disciplinary Committee - will be called into action this week following a skirmish at the Cambrian on Easter Sunday when the Squashed Grapes travelled there to play Cambrian A. Match abandoned in the 10th frame following an allegation of non-calling of a foul shot.

Premiership - Showdown results in stalemate as Elite and Lion draw; Grapes scrape a win at Lion A but it is enough to take them into second place above the Lion. Bottom of the Table battle sees Lion A beat Nomads to climb a little. Promises to be a battle to the end.

Division Two - Herbert Chirbury remain top despite losing to the Squashed Grapes.  They have a tough run in to the end of the season whilst Grapes have it slightly easier, but Herbert effectively need to lose two matches more - possible, but not likely.

Division Three - Bellenders have a very hard last three games whilst their Bucanneers rivals have it slightly easier. But also involved in the title chase are the two Queens Head sides and they play a big part in the championship challenge.

DIVISION 2 & 3 CUP - all the next round games must be played this Friday (or before) 4th April, 2008  7.30pm starts.

New draws done for Singles, Doubles and Threesomes. Also LADIES singles draw carried out. All games to be played by 4/4/08
