DREW HUGHES ON TARGET FOR SECOND SINGLES TITLE
Prolific Newtown player, Wayne Smith may well be in the final of the Doubles and Threesomes, and favourite to win the League and Cup double with his Elite Premiership side, but he will not be collecting another Singles title after losing to Drew Hughes, 4-1 in the Semi-final.
Drew
and Wayne contested one of the best ever Singles Finals a couple of years
ago and Drew ran out the winner then. After having had an indifferent year
in the League fixtures, Drew emerges as the favourite for the big final
where he will meet either the on-form Dafydd Rowlands or the pride of
Llandyssil, Alan Price with those two playing tomorrow night (Sunday 27th
April)
Drew will also be hoping to make it to his last ever Youth event, which he has won every year, bar one, since the introduction of the Youth League into our League. The Last rounds are all due to be played this Thursday, 1st May at the Football Club.
