Couple of Shocks, some Big 9-1 scores, but all goes smoothly Everything
cued off smoothly last night as the 2007/08 season got under way; well
done to all the Captains and Landlords for getting themselves sorted out,
as we continue the strategy of starting early and finishing in the first
week of May next year. Shock
of the night in the Premiership was the Grapes being trounced by Upper
House A, 8-2! Also winning 8-2 were the current Champions, Llanbadarn who
entertained a new look Lion A, whilst the Nomads also collected an 8-2 win
away at the Waggon. The Elite recovered from a shock 3-0 Robins lead, to
battle back to a 6-4 victory. In
Division Two, newcomers, and many people's favourites, Herbert Chirbury
knocked in a 9-1 win at home to Cefn Coch A, whilst the other Cefn Coch
side bit the dust at home to Bettws. The Dolau are another fancied side,
but they just scraped home 6-4 over promoted Pheasant Geezers. Honours
even in a 5-5 draw between the two Cambrian sides! In
Division Three, a lot of new sides with one the biggest wins going to
Bellenders against their new Bell B colleagues. The Courthouse have
strengthened and are probably favourites - they won 7-3 against another
new side, Buck Hotel C. The biggest defeat befell last season's wooden
spooners, Herbert Honeys who lost 9-1 to the Queens Head A.
