Newtown Pool League;  "Playing Premier Pool in Powys"

County Get Creditable Win Away to Carmarthen "B"

Travelling away, with just the bare nine players and without their Manager, Phil Jones, the County side had a tough task on their hands at the Inn on the Hill in Carmarthen - and they got off to a poor start losing the first two sessions 5-4. But a good run of wins saw them win the next session 6-3 and then another 6-3 in the final session clinched an excellent 20-16 victory.

Elsewhere in the County League Division Two, leaders, Port Talbot and Torfaen, the two sides above Newtown in the league, also won by the same 20-16 margin, but were at home so Newtown gain a point on them for their away win.

Richard "Curly" Evans was the undisputed Man of the Match by winning 4/4 for his side.
