County Disappointment as Merthyr Fail to Show!

Newtown's hopes for progressing their challenge for promotion from the Second Division took a tumble on Sunday when bottom of the table, Merthyr B, failed to show. No phone call was received, and food was prepared by the Football Club caterers. Only after enquiries from the Newtown Manager, Phil Jones, was a response received an hour after the due start time, saying they would not be coming.

As a result, Newtown will be awarded the highest points scored on the day, but as that would be by one of their rivals, it is almost worthless as that does not help their cause at all. The only result that has been entered on the County site is a 20-16 win for second placed Torfaen over Carmarthen.

The next meeting is Thursday 13th September - ALL TEAMS MUST BE THERE - No excuses - 8pm at Football Club
