Newtown Pool League; "Playing Premier Pool in Powys"
A.G.M. set for Sunday 19th August, 2007 at 8pm
The League will stage its AGM for the 2007/08 season at Newtown Football Club at 8pm on Sunday 19th August, with a view to starting the league in the middle of September.
There has already been much talk of new teams and some folding with players dispersing into other teams in the League. The Buck Inn in Newtown is now managed by Jackie Williams and her partner and they have installed a pool table and intend entering two teams. Enquiries have also been received from the Herbert pub in Chirbury.
Bettws B are rumoured to have split up - with the New Inn moving their pool table to the main bar, and replacing it with a smaller table.
All teams must be represented at the AGM which is expected to last just an hour. Please make the effort to attend. Any rule changes should be submitted in writing to the League Secretary, who will be proposing an end to teams postponing league fixtures in favour of in-house tournaments!
